Privacy Policy
Plain English, no small print. This is everything we hold about you and the reason we hold it.

1. Who we are
Gadgets4Geeks sells consoles, VR, PC parts and related gadgets, through this website and through the Gadgets4Geeks mobile app. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Gadgets4Geeks, and "you" means anyone who browses the store, opens an account, or places an order.
This policy covers both the website and the app. Both talk to the same store, so the same rules apply wherever you shop with us.
2. Your location — the short version
We use your location for one thing only: delivering your order to the right place. We do not track you. We do not follow you around the map, we do not record where you go, and we do not build a movement history. Your delivery coordinates are recorded once, at the moment you place an order, and they are attached to that order so the delivery reaches your door.
How the coordinates are captured
- In our mobile app, placing an order requires your device location. You tap "Use my current location" at checkout, your phone asks your permission, and the position it returns is saved with that order. Without it the order cannot be placed — it is what decides your delivery zone, your delivery fee, your arrival estimate and whether cash on delivery is offered, and it is what the driver navigates to. You still type or correct the written address yourself.
- On this website, the address you pick from the suggestions has a latitude and longitude attached to it, and that pair is saved with the order. There is also a "Use my current location" button; on the website it is optional, and you can refuse it and type the address by hand.
- Either way the coordinates are read only at the time an order is being placed. There is no background location access, no location access while you browse, and none at all once the order is submitted.
What we do with them
- Work out which delivery zone you fall in, so we can quote the correct delivery fee and arrival estimate.
- Pass the delivery address, and the coordinates for it, to the courier who brings your parcel.
- Nothing else. They are not used for advertising, profiling, or analytics, and they are not sold or rented to anyone.
3. What else we collect
We collect what an order needs and very little beyond it.
- Account details — your name, mobile number, and email address if you give one. A mobile number is verified by a one-time code so that orders go to a number that is really yours.
- Delivery details — the address, city, state and PIN code you enter, plus the coordinates described above, and any delivery note you add.
- Order history — what you bought, the options you chose, what it cost, the tax charged, the payment method you selected, and the status of the parcel.
- Support messages — your name, email, the topic you picked and the message you sent, so a person can answer you.
- Drop alerts — your email address, but only if you ask for them. Every alert has an unsubscribe link.
- Technical basics — a session cookie so the site remembers you are signed in, and standard server logs kept for security and fault-finding.
Your cart and your saved items live on your own device, not on our servers, until you sign in or check out.
What we never collect
- We do not store your card number, CVV or UPI PIN. Card and UPI payments are handled by the payment provider on their own systems; we only receive a result.
- We do not read your contacts, your photos, your messages, or your files.
- We do not track your location in the background, and we do not use location for advertising.
4. Why we are allowed to hold it
- To perform the contract — we cannot ship a parcel without a name, a number and an address.
- Legal obligation — tax and invoicing rules require us to keep order and GST records for a set period.
- Your consent — drop alerts, and the one-tap location button at checkout. You can withdraw either at any time.
- Legitimate interest — keeping the store secure and preventing fraudulent orders.
5. Who we share it with
We share the minimum needed to get your order to you, and nothing for marketing purposes.
- Couriers — your name, address, coordinates and phone number, so the parcel arrives and the driver can call you.
- Payment providers — the order amount and reference. They collect your payment details directly; we never see them.
- Google — address autocomplete at checkout uses Google Maps services, and signing in with Google or verifying your mobile number uses Google Firebase. Their handling is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Email and SMS providers — to send order confirmations, invoices and one-time codes.
- Authorities — only where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never have.
6. How long we keep it
- Order records, including the delivery coordinates, are kept for as long as tax and warranty obligations require.
- Account details are kept while your account is open.
- Support messages are kept while the query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case it reopens.
- Drop-alert subscriptions are deleted as soon as you unsubscribe.
7. Your choices
- Refuse location. On the website, say no to the prompt and type your address instead — the order still goes through. In the app, an order cannot be placed without a location, because the delivery is priced and routed from it; if you would rather not share it, order through this website instead.
- See or correct your details. Open your account page, or ask us and we will do it for you.
- Delete your account. Ask us from the support page. We will remove your account and personal details, keeping only the order and tax records the law makes us keep.
- Stop the emails. Use the unsubscribe link, or turn drop alerts off in your account.
- Sign out everywhere. Your account page can end every session on every device at once.
8. Keeping it safe
Traffic between your device and our store is encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Access to order data is limited to the people who pack and dispatch parcels and answer support. No system is perfect, but nothing here is treated casually.
9. Children
The store is meant for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect details from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will remove them.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced on the store. Continuing to use the store after a change means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact us
Any question about your data — including a request to see it, correct it or delete it — can be sent from our support page, and a person will reply within one working day.
